Only in the darkness can we see the field of blazing guiding light. Org. image by me, C. Bjørnemose. 2021.

Shadows & Blaze

In the darkness, I wondered for a thousand years
Looking for a light in the harrowing pitch-black night
Searching endlessly for a rock to hold on to
Feeling lost in the tirelessly and everlasting maze
Where is the lantern that will guide me?
The quest so long, aimless, and yet incredibly soulful
Where are you my lamp in the intense shadow?
I can’t anymore
But I must
Lost in confusions, illusions, delusions, and ideas
I’m seeking
Just as the foxhound looking for a trace
A sound, a smell, a touch, a glimpse
Am I really seeing or are my eyes just adjusted to the obscurity?
Sparkles of glimmer in the air
Am I blind?
I reach ahead, grasping for the nothingness of it all
I fall and get hurt
Crying for all the broken pieces of me
Sitting cradled and wounded
A flash is aimed at me
As a morse code, it speaks to me
Come, child,
Come, child,
Child, come,
I look up and rise
As a phoenix, reborn
The glow so sharp, warm, blazing
I see it
It is for me
In the darkness, I wondered for a thousand years
Looking for a light in the pitch-black night
I see you now, my dear star shining so bright
I am coming home
At last
